Our newest programme is our Disability Hate Crime and Harassment Prevention and Reporting Service for which we have just successfully delivered a pilot project – our research has shown that an estimated 500 Disabled people experience hate crime in Merton every year.
Our AGM theme this year is Deaf and Disabled people’s Rights and Responsibilities in 2017. Everyone is welcome but you will need to fill in an X by X membership form to take part in the AGM vote. The Employment Coaching Project is a one-year project with Ealing Council, Ealing Centre for Independent Living (ECIL) and Community Activities Project Ealing (CAPE). The project targets improving access to the labour market in the London Borough of Ealing for people with physical disabilities, long term conditions, autism and/ or severe and enduring mental health needs.

Rica is working with Integrated Transport Planning Ltd (ITP) on a project for the Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB) looking at wheelchair user safety on train platforms. Wheelchair users are asked to give their views and experiences. Rica will be conducting follow-up phone interviews with some respondents.
