Join Inclusion London for an update on how the With Us project is developing and how we can work together to help DDPO’s build intersectional knowledge, skills to make our sector more inclusive through training, peer support, exploration and discussion.
About the event
How can we put intersectional understanding at the heart of the DDPO sector’s work? Would you like the support of our peers and foundational training that can be used for sustainable social justice practice and movement building?
Do you have ideas to contribute about how to make this happen effectively?
Find out what the With Us project has been developing since our productive discussions about improving intersectional awareness and tackling structural inequality at the first event launch in December.
This event will give you the opportunity to explore and contribute your ideas to the four different strands we are offering for those with lived experience of multiple marginalisation, CEOs/senior leaders and those wanting to learn how to be a better intersectional and anti-racist ally.
If you are a Deaf or Disabled person interested in these issues and want to discuss with your peers how the With Us project can best address these issues in our program, then please join us.
What you can expect:
- Find out about the kind of training and content you can expect in the four strands of the ‘With Us’ project, designed to inform and support a variety of people working in the DDPO sector and those with lived experience.
- Find out about the three stages of the program designed to support developing understanding of intersectional and anti-racist issues and how they fit into the social model and co-production. As well as how the program can support personal development, leadership, advocacy, and communication skills.
- Have an opportunity to shape the program’s content in braver and safer spaces/ facilitated break out rooms. We want your views on what the program’s four strands should address in the next six months.
- Catch up and chat in an informal lounge breakout room and make new potentially long-term connections in a supportive space of peers and allies.
Who can attend
This event is open to any DDPO members interested in inclusion/intersectional issues, the social model, co-production, and Disabled and Deaf people with lived experience of having multiply marginalised identities.
