Who is this course for?
For experienced DDPO benefit advisers who are confident about covering issues in more, and sometimes complex detail.
About the course
Around 6 million people have claimed universal credit (UC), but another 3 million are still on Legacy benefits. Changes to the rules in January 2021 make it easier to switch to UC, but is this a good choice? Many Legacy claimants are better off delaying a move to UC, but others should consider switching ASAP. The right choice may be complicated and advisers should not depend on a simple ‘better off’ calculation. This course considers best practice, and looks for a more systematic approach.
- Who has a choice and why
- How much is involved and for how long
- Using an ‘informed crystal ball’ in case of changes
- Developing a system or pro forma to advise better
