ROFA National Independent Living Campaign Meeting

ROFA meeting to organise a strategy to win political support for the National Independent Living Support System (NILSS)

Following the successful launch of the ROFA National Independent Living Support System (NILSS) document in Parliament in April this year we are organising a follow up campaign meeting to develop a strategy to win political support to implement our vision.

The meeting will take place  on Friday 6th September, 2 – 5pm, 336 Brixton Rd. London, SW9 7AA

About ROFA

Reclaiming Our Futures Alliance (ROFA) is an alliance of Disabled people and Disabled People’s Organisations (DPOs) who have joined together to defend disabled people’s rights and campaign for an inclusive society.  ROFA fights for equality for Disabled people in England and works with sister organisations across the UK in the tradition of the international disability movement.  We base our work on the social model of disability, human and civil rights in line with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD).

How to join ROFA

ROFA membership is open to individual disabled people living in England and to all DPOs, disabled peoples groups or networks in England who are:

  • At least 75% controlled by Disabled people e.g. 75% or more of Management Committee / Boards or Steering groups are made up of Disabled people and;
  • sign up to the social model of disability and support the principles and values of ROFA as detailed in our Term of Reference

ROFA also has an affiliate membership for allies of ROFA – both organisations and individuals can be affiliate members. Affiliate members do not have voting rights.
Membership is free for individual disabled people and non-funded DPOs.
