Getting started with Access to Work
A half day training session for managers in DDPOs wanting to improve their understanding of the Access to Work process.

Who is the training for?
This training is for managers within Deaf and Disabled People’s Organisations (DDPOs) who are responsible for managing staff.
About the training
This session will help you to understand how Access to Work can support individuals with a range of impairments and access needs to navigate barriers to and within employment. This session will also help you to understand how to apply for Access to Work and some of the challenges Disabled people face with the process.
The aims of the training are to help you:
- Understand what Access to Work is.
- Understanding the ways that Access to Work can support individuals navigate barriers to employment and feel supported.
- Understand how to apply for Access to Work.
- Understand some of the barriers and issues with Access to Work applications.
- Have tools in place to support Disabled staff navigate some of the challenges with the Access to Work process.

What is a DDPO?
Deaf and Disabled People Organisations (DDPOs) are organisations that are run and controlled by Deaf/Disabled people, with Deaf/Disabled people representing at least 75% of Trustees and over 50% of paid staff.
