About the training
Our Employment Rights Training is designed to be delivered to Disabled people who are at any stage of the employment journey. Through these sessions we are offering to train DDPO staff to deliver this training to Disabled people who use their services.
The aims for DDPOs are to:
Build on existing knowledge, expertise and skills in providing excellent employment support to Disabled people
Become confident in training Disabled people on:
- The Social Model of Disability
- The structural barriers to employment for Disabled people and how to tackle them
- knowledge of their rights under the Equality Act
- How to identify and challenge discrimination
- How to ask for reasonable adjustments and become more comfortable talking about their access needs
- Where to seek support
Who is the training for?
This training is for all DDPO staff and volunteers who deliver employment services.
Please note places are limited to a maximum of 2 people per DDPO.

Rob Murthwaite – Senior lecturer in employment and equality law
