deafPLUS is a medium sized national organisation with seven local centres (four of which are in London, with others in Bath, Aldershot and Birmingham). We provide information and advice, advocacy, employment support and training to deaf and deafened people, and people living with hearing loss. We also provide services under the ‘visionPLUS’ name to people affected by visual impairment. Much of our income is from the local authorities in which our centres are based but our strategy is focussed on broadening the range of funding from other sources.
We are looking for an outstanding accountant to manage the finances of the charity (which currently includes 35+ funded projects spread across 8 locations) for a 12 month maternity leave period. The successful candidate is required to have an accountancy qualification and recent experience of the charity sector.
The appointee will work closely with the Chief Executive and Head of Quality and Performance and will be supported by a full time Finance Officer.
The post is part-time 22.5 hours per week (to be worked over 3-5 days per week – we are flexible, so exact hours open to negotiation with the successful candidate) based at our Whitechapel Centre.
Annual Salary, including London Weighting, will be £41,615 (pro rata), plus 25 pro rata days annual leave, pension and up to three ‘festive closed days per year’.
