Disability Advice Service Lambeth (dasl) is Lambeth’s leading pan-impairment Disabled People’s Organisation. We provide a wide range of services to Disabled people in Lambeth, including advice, information, professional advocacy, Direct Payments support, social and sports activities and peer support.
Through the Connect Lambeth Partnership, we are commissioned by Lambeth Council to provide information, advice, recruitment support, Peer support and training to people in receipt of a Direct Payment or Personal Health Budget.
We are seeking to appoint a Direct Payments Worker to complete our experienced team as soon as possible. Some experience of providing support to people using Direct Payments or Personal Health Budgets would be an advantage but is not essential. You may have a different background in a field such as social work, health care, disability services, education or training and employment.
We are looking for someone with an understanding of, and commitment to, the principles of independent living and some knowledge of community care services. You should have at least two years’ experience, either in a paid or unpaid capacity, of working with one or more of these groups: people with physical or sensory impairments, people with learning difficulties, mental health service users, older people, carers, or Disabled children and young people.
