About this organisation

Change, Act! are a Disabled and Neurodivergent-led Applied Theatre company who co-create Theatre with Disabled and Neurodivergent Communities towards social change. We believe that Theatre changes minds.

We create safe, supportive spaces for people to share their stories, learn new skills, foster solidarity and be creative. All of our work looks towards transformation and change both on a personal and structural level.

Our work adapts Augusto Boal’s Theatre of the Oppressed and other Applied Theatre techniques traditions to be fully accessible and empowering to all.

All of our work is trauma informed and user-led.

We welcome anyone to our projects who self-identifies as Disabled, neurodivergent or as having a long-term health condition. We use the social model of disability and also support the Inclusion London definition of disability.

Our model of working supports people to progress through the company to have opportunities to assist with sessions and lead their own projects after completing our ‘Inclusive Facilitation through Theatre’ training.

We currently work on a project-to-project basis and we have projects running most of the year so please do email us to join or mailing list.

We have mainly work in the London Boroughs of Hackney and Islington but are looking to expand our work both within London and nationally. Please do get in touch!
