About this organisation

Buddies for All (CIC) matches anyone who identifies themselves as having, or having had, a physical, mental, or sensory condition, or disability, with a volunteer buddy. We are all about creating long lasting buddying friendships between our volunteer buddies and their new friends. These newly established friendships will help improve the physical health and mental wellbeing of our newly established friends. We encourage our network of buddies and friends to be open, to support each other, have fun and build long lasting relationships.

Buddies for All (CIC) match our new friends with a volunteer buddy through our online platforms, via the telephone, or by providing face-to-face support. Online discussions take place using teleconferencing platforms or via our own social media platforms. Face-to-Face support could include attending social or practical activities with a buddy, for example, attending a social event, through to a buddy helping our friends with the weekly shop.

The service will be initially piloted in one South East London Borough such as Lewisham with the hope of expanding across London and the South East as the service grows. While some similar services may exist across London, these are often borough specific and if there is a service in one borough it is not necessarily available in another borough and additionally, these services may not be appropriate for the target audience identified by Buddies for All (CIC).
