Social care reform – Let’s ensure our voices are heard!
We are calling on all DDPOs to ensure the voices of Deaf and Disabled people are heard and considered in the social care reform
We are calling on all DDPOs to ensure the voices of Deaf and Disabled people are heard and considered in the social care reform and that the reforms meets our expectations. We all want to live a good life. However, some of us need support to help us do this. So let’s all make sure the reforms enable us to achieve this vision.
The announcements so far will not improve the lives of working-age Disabled people, especially those who do not have significant assets.
Disabled people and DDPOs were not consulted, and the talk is mainly about care homes and the social care sector. It is not about our lives.
It is up to us to change this and this is why we are calling on your help:
- We are asking you to meet your MP and discuss the critical problems with them. We developed a a campaigning guide for DDPOs to help you at this meeting.
- Edit and share our briefing with your MP and local political party branches. Ask that the question of social care for disabled people is discussed
- Encourage your members to send the Letter to their MP
Now is the window of opportunity. So let’s all work together to transform social care.
