Inclusion London’s response to the Technical Consultation: Funding Local Authorities to support former Independent Living Fund recipients
Inclusion London welcomes the government’s proposal to compensate for the cost pressures caused by the closure of the Independent Living Fund (ILF). The new ‘Former ILF Recipient Grant’ will help prevent further erosion of Disabled people’s right to independent living under Article 19 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities by providing some funding protection against further cuts to essential day to day support for Disabled people with the highest support needs.
