Research on Independent Living in London

If your DDPO has an advice service, please fill out our survey about the state of social care and independent living across London

Fill out our survey about social care support

Rachel O’Brien, Inclusion London’s Independent Living Officer, is currently doing research into the state of independent living in London, and whether the Care Act 2014 and its “wellbeing principle” is effective in the facilitation, implementation and enforcement of Disabled people’s right to live independently. It is going to be really useful to hear from DDPOs – particularly those that provide advice services – about your experiences and the experiences of your service users in using social care support and the Care Act 2014.

If your DDPO has an advice service, please fill out our Survey Monkey so we have more information about the state of social care and independent living across London!

Free Care Act Training for DDPOs and Your Members!.

We are also offering free training on the Care Act for DDPOs and your service users. From understanding the assessment process, to personal budgets and direct payments, we can talk you through how the legislation works and what your rights are if you are trying to access social care or already receive social care support. Please email Rachel at Rachel.obrien@inclusionlondon.org.uk, if you are interested in organising a training session or if you would like further information.
