Pause the rollout of Universal Credit petition

No one should be forced to wait six weeks for vital support, when rent is due, bills are stacking up, and you have a family to feed. But that’s the reality for thousands of people on Universal Credit because of the problems with the system.

Pause the rollout of Universal Credit petition

Petition text

Please pause the rollout of Universal Credit, until the flaws in the system are fixed

Why is this important?

No one should be forced to wait six weeks for vital support, when rent is due, bills are stacking up, and you have a family to feed. But that’s the reality for thousands of people on Universal Credit because of the problems with the system.

According to reports thousands more people on Universal Credit are behind on rent and council tax payments, compared to the old system. Families on Universal Credit don’t have money left to pay their creditors after they’ve paid their rent and bills.

Please will you press pause on rolling out Universal Credit across the country until these problems can be resolved?
