Help us fight for fair ULEZ exemption for disabled Blue Badge holders!
The mayor of London’s plans for a huge expansion of the capital’s low emission zone for cars could have a drastic and discriminatory impact on disabled people.
On 25 October 2021, the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) will be expanded from the North to the South Circular Roads in London and impose a daily charge of £12.50 on those with older vehicles. This is an important, progressive green initiative. But the daily charge will have a detrimental impact on the ability of many of the quarter of a million Disabled people with Blue Badges in London to access critical goods and services and receive help and support from others – all of which are especially important during the Covid19 pandemic.
We believe it is unacceptable to impose new barriers when disabled people have already been disproportionately impacted during the Covid19 pandemic.
Therefore, we request your urgent help and assistance to raise £5K of funds via CrowdJustice to enable the law firm Bindmans LLP to commission a barrister to tell us if there is a legal and human rights breach.
