Consultation on NHS interventions

The NHS is looking to reduce the number of interventions they do that don’t always work, and are consulting on how to do this.

NHS England launched a consultation on evidence based interventions.

The NHS is looking to reduce the number of interventions they do that don’t always work. At both national and local levels, there is a general consensus that more needs to be done to ensure the least effective interventions are not routinely performed, or only performed in more clearly defined circumstances. The NHS wish to turn this consensus into action with the Evidence Based Interventions Programme.

The areas NHS is consulting on include the design of the programme, the interventions targeted initially and proposed clinical criteria and delivery actions.
